Who I am
I’m Daniil Maximkin, a web analytics and conversion tracking consultant based in Valencia, Spain, working with clients worldwide. On Upwork, where a large share of my work happens, the platform shortens my name to “Daniel M.” — same person, same business, just a different name field on a different platform.
I help ecommerce and lead-generation businesses build conversion data they can trust.
In practice that means going into GA4, Meta, Google Ads, and Shopify and finding out — with evidence, not guesses — where the reported numbers stop matching the orders that actually happened, then fixing the gap and proving it closed.
What I specialize in
- GA4 ecommerce tracking and event architecture — purchase events, item arrays, revenue/tax/shipping accuracy, refunds
- Google Tag Manager, client-side and server-side
- Server-side tracking infrastructure — Stape, self-hosted Google Cloud Platform, or Fixel Pixel
- Meta Conversions API and event deduplication
- Google Ads conversion tracking
- Offline conversion tracking — feeding CRM and phone sales back into ad platforms
- Consent Mode v2 and consent-aware tagging
- Full tracking audits and order-level reconciliation
Track record
- 8+ years working in ecommerce tracking
- 2,480+ Shopify and ecommerce stores worked on
- 482 projects delivered on Upwork
- Top Rated status, 100% Job Success Score
- 4.9★ average rating across 347 reviews
These figures come from my Upwork profile and are re-verified quarterly, not pulled once and left to go stale on the page.
How I work
Every engagement starts read-only. I look at GA4, Google Ads, Meta Events Manager, and your Shopify admin before I touch anything, because you can’t diagnose a tracking problem honestly while you’re also changing the system you’re trying to measure.
From there: an evidence pack showing exactly what’s wrong and why, a priced plan, a build that runs in parallel with the existing setup rather than replacing it blind, and a reconciliation table at the end — order-level, each platform against Shopify — so “fixed” is something you can check, not something you have to take my word for.
The full process is laid out on the methodology page.
Platforms and stack
GA4, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Business Suite and Events Manager, TikTok Ads, Pinterest Ads, Shopify and Shopify Plus (including checkout extensibility), Stape, Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and Fixel Pixel.
Fixel Pixel, disclosed
I’m the founder of Fixel Pixel, a server-side tracking platform built for Shopify stores. It comes up naturally in my own work, so I disclose it plainly: when a project needs server-side tracking, I compare Fixel Pixel against Stape and a self-hosted Google Cloud Platform setup, and I recommend whichever is cheapest to run for that specific store — not the one I happen to own.
Where I’m based
Valencia, Spain. I work with clients worldwide, mostly async with calls scheduled around CET.

How I handle facts
I only publish methods I actually use in client work, and I don’t invent numbers to make a page read better — if a stat isn’t verified, the sentence gets rewritten without it. If you spot something wrong on this site, email me and I’ll fix it, with a dated note explaining the correction. Full policy on the editorial policy page.
Not sure whether your tracking is actually broken?
Start with a Health Check — a fast, read-only diagnosis that tells you what is wrong before you spend anything fixing it. Prefer email? Send your store URL and one sentence about what looks off.
